Alcohol & Drug Awareness Training Employee (Canada)
This course is for all employees that need to understand safety risks in a workplace with a drug and alcohol policy and that are subject to drug and alcohol testing.
Corridor’s drug and alcohol awareness training for employees focuses on the keys of being “fit for duty”, how drug and alcohol testing is conducted, what happens if the test is positive, return to duty procedures and outlines individual responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of all staff. The
training also educates employees on the health effects of alcohol use and abuse, illegal drugs, prescription drugs, cannabis — the difference between smoking/inhalation, edibles and the prolonged effect of ingesting cannabis.

This module provides an overview of mood altering substances including alcohol, cannabis, medications, and illicit drugs. It also discusses the issues of dependency and enabling.

This module provides an overview of responsibilities in the context of mood altering substances in the workplace. This includes the responsibilities of:
- Employers
- Employees
- Supervisors and company leaders
Standard procedures have been developed for alcohol and drug testing. These procedures were originally established through the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and are now accepted throughout North America. This has been upheld in Canadian arbitration and court decisions as a fair and accurate way to conduct workplace testing.
